When it comes to the main story, Ghost of Yotei is rich with things to do. Not to mention, the game also has a lot to do with its side content. In the early stages of the game, Atsu’s parents mention that they hid Charms at the peak of Mount Yotei, where she would deserve these Charms if she finishes the climb. This sparks a very interesting side quest where Atsu must reach and climb Mount Yotei to find those Charms. Here’s everything you need to know about how to reach and climb Mount Yotei in Ghost of Yotei.
How To Reach Mount Yotei In Ghost Of Yotei
To reach Mount Yotei in Ghost of Yotei, travel west to the Mount Yotei Shrine, located at the western end of the Yotei River. You can find the Shrine between a Dueling Tree and the White Dye House.
Once you reach the Mount Yotei Shrine, there’s a clear path of jumping and parkour to reach higher ground.
Reach the top and move forward until you notice a crack in the wall, like a cave entrance. Enter the cave to reach Mount Yotei in Ghost of Yotei. But that’s not the end of this journey, as there’s still a lot to do to climb Mount Yotei in Ghost of Yotei.
How To Climb Mount Yotei In Ghost Of Yotei
To start the Mount Yotei climb, go to the left side and keep moving until you reach a rocky slide. Slide down and jump, hooking onto the rope at the end.
At some point, Atsu will reach a broken bridge, where there’s no way to jump to the other side. However, there are two ropes on her left that she can hook onto. Jump and hook to the first rope using the R2 button, before hooking into the second one. From there, keep moving to the right side, then climb the cliff at the end.
After reaching the small shack, where Atsu wonders if her parents stopped there to rest and enjoy the view, Atsu will reach another area that looks like a dead end. However, if you reach the left side, at the end of this area, you can see a cliff that has a tree in front of it. Jump on them to get one step closer to the peak of Mount Yotei in Ghost of Yotei.
Finally, just a short while before Atsu reaches the top of Mount Yotei, she’ll come across a hard rock slide that leads downhill. She needs to slide down and aim to hook onto the rope at the end of that slide to cross that area. After hooking onto the rope, keep going left, climbing the last parts of Mount Yotei, before reaching its peak.
Upon reaching the peak of Mount Yotei, Atsu can immediately spot the Mount Yotei Shrine in the far distance. The path there has a couple of bumpy jumps, but nothing too crazy.
Reach the Mount Yotei Shrine and use the Respect animation to bow and interact with it. Doing that will reward Atsu with the Father’s Charm and Mother’s Charm.
After getting Atsu’s parents’ Charms, don’t yet interact with the tree trunk next to the Shrine to descend to the Mount Yotei Shrine’s entrance, as you can keep scavenging Mount Yotei’s peak for more rewards.
If you keep moving on top of the mountain, you’ll eventually come across the Pillar of the Fallen, where Atsu will get the Starlight Abyss weapon skin. You can also slide down into Mount Yotei’s center to find an Altar of Reflection in the middle. All these rewards make reaching and climbing Mount Yotei a very rewarding experience in Ghost of Yotei.
